Next strain is an open-source program available in 14 languages that allows to follow-up epidemics’ evolution in real-time, based on the collection of public health and genetic data. The project is lead by academics from all around the world.
It contains information about Tuberculosis, Zika, Ebola and now includes COVID-19.
Anyone can access a report, presented as a world map and graphics that show different data about the epidemic propagation. The website also contains a guide that present answers to frequently asked questions.
Next strain can be particularly useful for epidemiologists as well as public health experts to get accurate and global information about the pathogens’ evolution.
